We often face challenges that can be overwhelming and stressful. This can take a huge toll on our mental health, causing difficulty sleeping, changes in energy and more. There are plenty of ways to cope with stress, one of which is meditation. Meditation can help you feel more tranquil and relaxed. You can try guided meditation by joining Mindfulness Mondays hosted by the Oregon City Public Library. Learn more about it here.
Another thing you can try is addressing the causes of stress in your life. Unstable and unsafe housing can have harmful effects on your family, causing toxic stress that can be just as damaging as physical conditions. Our featured project this week shows how we eliminate our client’s stressor by helping them solve their leaky roof problem.
Replacing a Leaky Roof in Oregon City
Leaky roofs might not seem like a major issue, but they can be hazardous! Even a small one can lead to critical dangers in your home, from safety to health. First, a roof with leaks will direct water into your attic, affecting the insulation and resulting in higher utility bills. Aside from that, mold and mildew can grow, which can cause health problems like asthma and allergies. In addition, think of the fire hazard of shorted wires if you have any wiring in your ceiling! Those are just three of the many possible problems that could arise.
Our Oregon City’s client did not take their leaky roof lightly. The tin roof of their shed was leaking.
Because of the extended exposure to water, the sheeting and rafters were already rotted.
This water damage had compromised the structural integrity of their shed. Luckily, they called us to solve the problem before the entire structure would have completely deteriorated.
The Boss Exteriors team of professional roofing contractors tore the old tin roof down to the rafters. Next, we replaced the rafters because they were already much too rotted. We then put down a new ½ inch sheeting, a new layer of ice and water shield, as well as a new layer of waterproof underlayment. All three will protect their shed from the elements. Lastly, we installed the new tin roof and replaced the siding that was damaged from the water leak.
With the unique skills to handle any job, our carpenters will take care roofing leaks before they can ruin your home and safety.
