The roof on this home in Salem, Oregon was showing noticeable signs of wear and tear. There were dark spots and missing granules on the shingles, which means the shingles were weakened and needed replacing. The overall worn and unsightly appearance of our client’s roof confirmed this—they would need a new roof because if this was ignored, the shingles would get more damaged and allow water to leak into their home.
After identifying the roof damage, we started with the roof replacement. A roof replacement is a big investment. But it is definitely one that is worthwhile considering the possible damage they would have to deal with.
The first thing we did was a complete tear-off of the previous roofing, which removed all of the existing shingles. Next, we replaced five sheets of plywood that had rotted underneath the shingles. Our team then installed new synthetic underlayment ridge vents, which will improve the airflow through their attic and increase comfort. We also installed a new drip edge and rake edge, which will direct water away from the fascia and protect the roof. Lastly, we installed quality shingles, giving their home an aesthetically pleasing look!
