Maintaining your siding is essential to protecting your home, as well as for your home’s appearance. It shields your home from harsh weather conditions and elements like wind, snow, and rain. To add to that, it shields your home from water, outside debris and dirt. These elements can pose some serious damage to your home if not for the protection of your sidings. Just Imagine what can happen if your siding is damaged and is not doing its job.

Preparations for Siding Installation
Before installing the new sidings, we had to make sure that the materials of the surface are damage-free. This part is crucial if you want your siding to last for a long time. If there are untreated problems such as mold on the layers of wood under your siding, it’ll easily spread to the newly installed siding, consequently you’ll need to have it replaced again.
So for this stage of the process, we removed one layer of wood siding. Then, we proceeded with inspecting the sheeting for rot and damage. Once that was settled, we replaced some plywood where it’s necessary.
Moreover, we Installed Vapor barrier per manufacturer's specifications on the siding area being replaced. Then, the Hardie Trim was around windows, doors and corners. And last but not the least, we placed Z-metal above windows and doors.
Installing HARDIEPLANK® LAP SIDING CEDARMILL
Now, onto the main stage of the process. We installed a pre-primed HardiePlank Lap Siding Select Cedarmill, which measures 8.25 `` to match the current one. Along with this new siding is a James Hardie 30 Year JAMES HARDIE MATERIAL WARRANTY. The homeowner definitely got his money’s worth with this one.
Some of the last but equally important steps that we did is to apply QSI Quad Max caulking and we did a magnet sweep for fasteners used.
